Morgan Roberts, LiCSW-S

Morgan Roberts is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Work Supervisor working in private practice in Birmingham, Alabama. Morgan provides outpatient mental health counseling for clients beginning in adolescence through the lifespan. Morgan considers it an incredible privilege to be able to sit with clients as they do the courageous work to heal and truly care for themselves through counseling.

Morgan works from a client-centered, strength-based approach with a trauma and attachment focus to meet clients in each of their unique needs. Morgan specializes in trauma and trauma-related needs. Morgan utilizes interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Shame Resilience Perspective, grief-informed interventions, Internal Family Systems, and EMDR.

Morgan is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to treat traumatic stress. 

Morgan has a Bachelor of Social Work from Auburn University and a Master of Social Work from the University of Alabama. Morgan’s academic training focused on areas of mental health, trauma, grief, and crisis intervention. Morgan has professional experience at the residential, partial hospitalization, and outpatient levels of care. Morgan has most recently worked as an outpatient therapist at Pathways Professional Counseling where she provided counseling to a diverse client base. Morgan has provided training to churches, agencies, organizations, and universities on the topics of trauma and how it impacts the brain, depression, anxiety, abuse and neglect, eating disorders and body image, self-care, grief and compassion fatigue.

Morgan hopes that her integrated approach to therapy will enhance the client’s well-being, allowing them to live the life they long to live and to see themselves with dignity and worth. 

Morgan and her husband live in the Birmingham area with their rather adorable son. While not working, Morgan and her family enjoy walks through the different trails and gardens in Birmingham, sporting events, local foods, and a good tv series.
